The Belle Community Betterment Association had the honor of welcoming a new business to the local community on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.
Ruth & Company Boutique & Décor, owned and operated by Gabbie Scott, is a local business with deep roots in the community. Scott, a Belle High School graduate, has realized her dream of opening a boutique in her hometown.
Located at 102 E. Third Street, Ruth & Company Boutique & Décor is open Thursday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The boutique hosted its grand opening on December 16th, 2023, in its new location.
Sharing a bit of history about her boutique, Scott explained…
“When we first opened in 2021, and I was asked where the name of my boutique came from, I often teared up and had a hard time telling the story. As the years have gone on, it’s gotten easier, and I enjoy sharing the story — it’s probably one of the most special to me.
Growing up, my grandpa, David Grubbs, was a family man. He taught me the importance of showing kindness in difficult situations, that family came first, and that you could always lend a helping hand. We shared many common interests: Judge Judy, history, and a love for Jesus. My siblings and I stood beside him many Sundays as his voice boomed through the auditorium with his favorite hymns. He was his grandkids’ BIGGEST fan and always supported us in everything.
One Christmas, specifically the Christmas before he passed, he approached us with a question: ‘Do you know what it means to have Ruth?’ The conversation continued with a quick Bible lesson.
I struggled for quite some time with what to name the boutique. There were a million options, but I wanted it to really mean something to me. One night, I woke up from a dream. A dream so real that I knew it had been sent to me. I had dreamt of the exact conversation I’d had with Grandpa about Ruth. I knew without a doubt that ‘RUTH’ would be the name and foundation of the boutique, one built in memory of my grandpa and giving glory to God. The ‘& Company’ just sounded nice too!”
Scott takes pride in her boutique, which is built on family, love, and the Bible. What started as an online dream became a reality right here in Belle.
Many community members may already be familiar with Ruth & Company Boutique & Décor through Scott’s social media presence, where she frequently runs specials and showcases representatives of all ages. Her business continues to grow and thrive.
