The Belle Community Betterment Association (BCBA) had a remarkable 2024, impacting our community through projects, events, and partnerships. From beautification efforts to economic development, BCBA members dedicated their time and energy to making Belle a better place for everyone. Here’s a look back at what we accomplished together in 2024!
Building the Future: Belle Park Entrance Project
One of BCBA’s major long-term initiatives is a new entrance for Belle Park. After months of strategic planning, a dedicated subcommittee was formed to oversee design, cost analysis, fundraising, and construction. In 2024, BCBA successfully designed the entrance, obtained bids, and submitted grant applications to four organizations while also requesting donations from four local banks. The Park Entrance Project Team made great progress toward turning this vision into reality!
Community Events That Brought Us Together
- Trivia Night Fundraiser (February 2024) – Over 140 attendees gathered at the Belle Community Center for a fun and friendly competition night. The live auction raised funds for community projects.
- 7th Annual Swap Meet & Car Show (June 2024) – This signature event welcomed over 150 vendors and drew approximately 1,400 visitors to Belle City Park, boosting local business sales.
- Belle Fair Beer Garden – BCBA managed the beer garden at the Belle Fair, organizing volunteers for four days of service.
- YaYa’s Rodeo Assistance (September 2024) – BCBA members volunteered at admission gates, food stands, and parking, helping ensure a smooth event.
- Father/Daughter Dance (December 2024) – A cherished tradition, this event created lasting memories for fathers and daughters in our community.
- Belle Downtown Christmas Celebration & Parade – A magical day with vendor booths, children’s activities, Santa visits, buggy rides, and a community Christmas Parade. BCBA awarded prizes for the best-decorated businesses, trees, and parade floats.
Beautifying Belle: A Year of Hard Work
From early spring through the holidays, BCBA volunteers transformed and maintained the city’s green spaces:
- Cleaned and prepared flower beds for spring planting, added new flowers and maintained them throughout the summer.
- Winterized flower beds at the City Park and gazebo (October & November).
- Decorated Main Street, City Council Chambers, and businesses for Fall and Christmas.
