The Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) recently held its 21st annual Show Me Service Awards on Thursday, June 22, at the Capitol Rotunda. This event brought together individuals from all corners of Missouri to acknowledge and appreciate the profound impact of service and volunteerism on communities.

The Belle Community Betterment Association (BCBA) proudly celebrates one of its members, Wade Guffey as an award recipient with the Adult of the Year Award, recognizing his dedication and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Brittany Crabtree, the Executive Director of the Missouri Community Service Commission, expressed her enthusiasm about the event, stating, “This is an inspiring occasion for all of us – a moment to reflect and celebrate the influence of some of Missouri’s most dedicated citizens. Hopefully, this event will inspire others to get involved and contribute their time and skills to their own communities.”

Guffey was one of 27 recipients at this year’s awards. The primary objective of the Show Me Service Awards is to highlight Missourians’ outstanding service and volunteerism, which strengthens communities and enhances the overall quality of life. To ensure diversity among the awardees each year, the awards are distributed by region and encompass specific categories such as age-specific, national service, business, and community awards.

The Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) plays a pivotal role in achieving its mission of fortifying Missouri communities through volunteerism and service. As a bipartisan commission appointed by the Governor and administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, MCSC invests over $43 million annually into Missouri communities through its AmeriCorps and volunteer programming.
